Advanced Electrolysis

Maryann J. Witte and Joanne M. Onisk, state certified electrologists, operate Advanced Laser at 6 Pearl Street, New Hartford. Both sisters and business partners, Maryann and Joanne have been in business since 1990, after completing an intensified 120 hour course at the Berkowitz School of Electrolysis in Forest Hills, New York.

Electrolysis is the most effective method of removing unwanted hair for people with light or pigmented (blonde) hair.

Several of the frequently asked questions about the process:

  • Is electrolysis permanent? Yes. It is recognized by the Food & Drug Administration and approved by the American Medical Association.
  • Is it painful? Most people say that it feels like a slight tingling sensation. A very fine probe is inserted and the skin is not punctured, damaged, or scared in any way. Maryann and Joanne use a new “air probe” technique that makes the treatment even more comfortable.
  • How many treatments are required? Of course, each person’s situation is different. A lot depends on the course of treatment you’ve followed before attempting electrolysis. The more the unwanted hair has been shaved or tweezed, the courser the regrowth and the greater the amount of treatments that will be needed.

If you have often thought about exploring electrolysis for permanent unwanted hair removal, sit down with Maryann and Joanne and they will tailor a treatment plan for you.
